Dale Cornelison's Obituary
Dale Eugene Cornelison, son of Marvin David and Pansy Elvira (Ince) Cornelison, was born December 31, 1928, in Diggins, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, April 13, 2010, in Webco Manor in Marshfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-one years, three months, and thirteen days. On September 7, 1946, he was united in marriage to Ruth Wanda Davis, and to this union two sons were born. Dale and Ruth shared over fifty-six wonderful years together before her passing on April 17, 2002. He was also preceded in death by his parents. Dale is survived by his sons, Robert Cornelison and his wife, Carolyn, of Marshfield, Missouri, and Glen Cornelison, of Southgate, Michigan; three grandchildren, Mindy Scott and her husband, Michael, of Marshfield, Missouri, Aaron Cornelison, of Taylor, Michigan, and Amber Cornelison of Woodhaven, Michigan; one great-grandson, DeVonne Mack, of Woodhaven, Michigan; one brother, Denzil Cornelison and his wife, Darlene, of Rogersville, Missouri; two sisters, Louise Owens and her husband, James, of Seymour, Missouri, and Lois Ipock, of Nixa, Missouri; a half-brother, David Cornelison, of Melba, Idaho; one half-sister, Shirley Ann Henderson, of Fair Play, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. He was born in Diggins, Missouri, and moved to Michigan in l947 where he worked in steel processing for National Steel Corporation for thirty-three years before retiring in 1980. He served as Union Steward for United Steel Workers in Ecorse, Michigan, for several years. Following his retirement, he and Ruth moved back to Diggins to make their home. Dale had accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at the Canaan Baptist Church in Taylor, Michigan. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and horse-back riding. He was a master gardener and liked country music and dancing. Dale loved his family and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Dale was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will cherish the memories he created for his family and friends. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday April 16, 2010 in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Seymour.
