Dale Evans' Obituary
Len Dale Evans, son of Elza Marion “E.M.” and Etta Ann Cyrus Evans, was born July 31, 1930, in Macks Creek, Missouri. He departed this life Friday, November 13, 2009, in Windsor Estates, Camdenton, Missouri, at the age of seventy-nine years, three months and thirteen days. On May 20, 1951 in Lebanon, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Bobbie Jane Rogers and to this union four daughters were born. Together they shared the past fifty-eight years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Everett Evans; and four sisters, Gertrude Linch, Alta Webster and twin infant sisters. Survivors include his loving wife, Bobbie Evans of the home; his four daughters, Dorothy Silvers and husband David, and Cindy Gaston and husband Bill all of Camdenton, Missouri, Teresa Watts and husband Leonard of Lebanon, Missouri, and Lenette Smith and husband Danny of Macks Creek, Missouri; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Dale was raised in Camden County and attended school in Camdenton. He served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1953. He started driving a truck at the age of sixteen. He was able to purchase his first dump truck at the age of seventeen and began a life-long career in the trucking business. He owned and operated Evans Trucking for many years, before his retirement. He made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Mount Horeb Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. In his spare time he enjoyed visiting with his buddies at the cafe. His biggest passion was trucks and trucking. Most of all, he loved his family and was always happy to have them around. He was a loving husband, daddy, pappy and grandpa and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m.on Tuesday November 17, 2009 at the Allee- Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Mt. Horeb Cemetery. Visitation is Monday evening 6-8:00 p.m. under the direction of the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral home Camdenotn, Missouri. A memorial has been established to the Mt. Horeb Cemetery.
