Dale Kimble's Obituary
Dale Edward Kimble, son of Frank C. and Ruby F. Henson Kimble, was born August 27, 1921, near Brush Creek, Missouri. He departed this life Saturday, May 9, 2009, in Northridge Place, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-seven years, eight months, and twelve days. On August 16, 1942, he was united in marriage to Mildred Louise “Midge” Weinrich, and to this union one daughter and two sons were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Francis, Curtis, and Dwight Kimble; and three sisters, Maxine Davis, Freeda Appling, and Bonnie Jones. Dale is survived by his loving wife of sixty-six years, Midge, of the home; a daughter Debra Garrison, and her husband, Steve, of Ooltewah, Tennessee; two sons, Larry Kimble, and his wife, Kathy, of Independence, Kansas, and Kurt Kimble, and his wife, Mary, of Neosho, Missouri; four grandchildren, Chad Kimble, and his wife, Casey, of Springlake, Texas, Eva Miller, and her husband, Simon, of Neosho, Missouri, Kara Hall, and her husband, Chris, of Hurst, Texas, and Kemberleigh Kimble, of Neosho, Missouri; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. He was raised in the Lebanon, Missouri area and attended Lebanon R-III Schools. He began working for his father repairing old and new truck beds and doing various other types of iron and sheet metal work. Very soon after he and Midge were married, Dale entered the United States Army and served his country faithfully from October 1, 1942 until February 12, 1946. He was stationed at Fort Knox and Fort Campbell and then was part of the European Theater of Operations in Germany during World War II. Upon being honorably discharged from the Army, Dale returned home to Midge and they made their home in Lebanon. Throughout the rest of his life, Dale worked as an electrician, doing jobs for many local businesses, the Conway, Grovespring and Mountain Grove Schools, and also at the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital on Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He also was a longtime member of the I.B.E.W. Union # 453 in Springfield. Dale had established his own special relationship with his Lord and Savior, and was of the Protestant faith. He liked being outdoors where his favorite year-round activity was fishing. Caring for his home was something he enjoyed doing and kept him busy. He also was a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball team. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dale was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he made for his family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday May 12, 2009 at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon. Burial will be at Veterans park in Mt. Rose Cemetery. Visitation is Monday evening 7-8:30 pm at the funeral home under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri. Memorials have been established to either the First Christian Church or the American Heart assoiciation. Donation may be made through the funeral home. Return to top
