Dale Newcomb (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Mr. Dale Wayne Newcomb, age 61 of Bolivar, Missouri passed away on Sunday evening, November 6, 2011 at his home in Stockton, Missouri.
He was born August 10, 1950 in Springfield, Missouri the son of Vincent Richard Newcomb and Barbara Jean (Allen) Newcomb.
On December 4, 1971 he married Mary Joan Lamke in Bolivar, Missouri.
Dale was in the United States Air Force from 1971-1975, serving in Thailand during the Vietnam War.
Dale retired as City Clerk from Bolivar, Missouri working in that position from 1989-2007. Prior to that he was the Sexton at Greenwood City Cemetery and had owned DJ House of Electronics in Bolivar, Missouri. Dale was a volunteer for the Bolivar Fire Department for 38 years, working his way up to the level of Assistant Fire Chief. He was the President of Twin Lakes Coin Club and was the Commander of the American Legion Post in Humansville, Missouri, an active member of the Disabled American Veteran’s and was of the Baha’i Faith.
He was preceded in death by his daughter; Jennifer Newcomb and his mother; Barbara Jean Newcomb.
Dale is survived by his wife; Mary Joan Newcomb of the home, his daughter; JoAnna Beck and her husband Matthew of Evansville, Indiana, his father; Vincent R. Newcomb of Carrollton, Missouri, two brothers; Richard Newcomb and his wife Kathryn of Carrollton, Missouri, Rex Newcomb and his wife Susan of Marshfield, Missouri, and one grandson; Levi Beck of Evansville, Indiana.
A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00pm on Tuesday evening, November 8, 2011 at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday afternoon at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar, Missouri with Military Honors provided by the AMVETS Post #114 of Flemington, Missouri.
