Dallas Gunter's Obituary
Dallas Cleo Gunter, Sr., son of Cleo Thomas and Louella Mae Clark Gunter, was born March 26, 1944, near Gainesville, Missouri. He departed this life Sunday, June 24, 2007, in Christian Health Care North, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty-three years, two months, and twenty-eight days. His parents, and a daughter, Lisa Marie Gunter, preceded him in death. Dallas is survived by his children, Donna Fulcher, and her husband, Mike, of Batesville, Arkansas, Louella Quakenbush, and her husband, Russ, of Indianapolis, Indiana, Tom Gunter, and his wife, Tammy, Darrell Gunter, and his wife, Tammy, all of Ava, Missouri, Dallas Gunter, Jr., and his wife, Chastity, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Wesley Barnum, and his wife, Amy, of Joplin, Missouri; two step-children, Julie Brown, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Jamie Osborn, and his wife, Amy, of Springfield, Missouri; thirty grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Tommy Gunter, of Ava, Missouri; three sisters, Geraldine Holman, of Ava, Missouri, Donna Riggs, and Carrie Ann Berry, both of Mountain Grove, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in the Gainesville and Ava area. Throughout his life he worked as a mechanic and a carpenter. He liked working on old cars and building decks and various other things. Dallas had made his profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Breeden Free Will Baptist Church, near Ava. His work was also his hobby and he enjoyed repairing cars and doing woodworking projects. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dallas was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 28, 2007, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Mansfield. Burial will be in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home in Mansfield. Mr.Gunter will lie in state through Tuesday evening in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Homes of Lebanon and Mansfield, Missouri. Memorials to the Mental Health Foundation may be made through either funeral home.
