Pat, All Daughters, Bob, Don and Bill,

I was privileged to be one of the earliest members of Southern Heights Christian Church that Dallas was instrumental in establishing and attend services there until I moved out of state. I have fond memories of visiting the home as guests of Sue and Ann during our teenage years and singing with them on occasion.

I remember Dallas with a welcoming smile at all times and he was full of love for his daughters. With a sparkle in his eyes and a big smile he was always eager to update me on his daughters' activities when I was in Lebanon for a visit.

What a beautiful life and so many achievements!

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you for peace and comfort knowing he has graduated to his heavenly home and is with his Saviour.

So glad Rexanne and I got to know Dallas Vernon for the past 21 years, and we join his wife Pat and family in this time of sorrow with his passing. We considered them mentors to us in Christian lifestyle, and enjoyed having them as part of the small group that met at our house for many years. Dallas’ stories and thoughts always enriched our discussions about the scriptural text. I’ll always remember us taking a group to their house to learn about the starting of Southern Heights Christian Church, them sharing the story of the first meeting occurring in that very room where we sat. They certainly blessed us, Pat will continue to, and we only hope we can imitate their faithful walk. Rick Willis

Sorry to hear of the passing of Dallas. What a wonderful legacy he left behind in his family and friends! He taught us all by his devoted example to live a Christian life.

It was always a pleasure to see him and Pat as I brought my mother, Joyce Sommer to visit at Southern Heights in her last years. Dallas and Pay always greeted us with a warm greeting and smile.

Hugs and prayers to his family and friends. May you all find comfort and peace knowing Dallas is safe in the arms of Jesus.

We were so saddened to hear about Dallas passing. His life’s work has impacted each member of our family.
I was employed at Detroit Tool while he was at the helm as president. (and I honestly cannot remember hearing a cross word spoken about him while I was there)
Being raised in Waynesville, I also traveled to a number of “youth rallies” at Southern Heights Christian Church and years later our sons would be raised and baptized there as well.
While we know that you his family are deeply saddened by his passing, please take comfort in the fact that his legacy lives on through each member of our family.
