Daniel R. Gumpolen (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Daniel Ray Gumpolen, son of the late William and Violet (Pettie) Gumpolen was born on April 8, 1937 in Duncieth, North Dakota, and departed this life on June 10, 2019 at his home near Buffalo, MO. At the time of his passing he was 82 years, two months, and one day of age.
Daniel was raised and attended school in North Dakota. He was united in marriage to Ruth Ann “Sandy” Browning on June 20, 1981 in Reno, Nevada. They made their home in California before moving to Buffalo, Missouri in 1986. Daniel worked as a concrete laborer building high rises in California for 25 years. He loved to tinker and taking old things and making something new. He loved reading his bible, helping people, and teasing and being teased. Daniel was a long-time member of the New Hope Baptist Church and loved his Lord and Savior.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents and one son, William Gumpolen. He is survived by his wife Sandy of the home; three sons, Kenny Gumpolen, Benny Gumpolen, and Ricky Dean Browning; three daughters, Raelene Overbeck, Carlette Gumpolen, and Carlene Gumpolen; one brother, Jim Gumploen; sister, Dorothy Koopskie; two granddaughters; and two great-grandsons. He also leaves other family members, his church family, and many friends who will all truly miss him.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 14, 2019 at the Cantlon Otterness & Viets Funeral Chapel with Rev. Richard Prater officiating. Escorts will be Terry Harris, Jody Wing, Henry Glass, Daniel Sisney, Mike Hamilton, and Chet Allen. Music will be provided by Brad Prater and Ashley White. Interment will be in the New Hope Cemetery under the care and direction of the Cantlon Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Rural Dale Baptist Church.
