Daniel J. Rodgers (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Daniel J. Rodgers, son of Raymond W. and Beverly Jean Fry Rodgers, was born April 6, 1952, in Kansas City, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, July 22, 2014, in his home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty-two years, three months, and sixteen days.
On October 31, 1970, he was united in marriage to Melva Wasson, and to this union one daughter and two sons were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert Ray Rodgers; and a sister, Angela R. Rodgers.
Daniel is survived by his loving wife of forty-three years, Melva, of the home; a daughter, Robin Patchin, of Lebanon, Missouri; two sons, Anthony Rodgers, of Oak Grove, Missouri, and Jason Rodgers, of Lebanon, Missouri; five grandchildren; three sisters, Gloria Fletcher, Rita Lackey, both of Independence, Missouri, and Teresa Rooney, of Grain Valley, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Kansas City, Missouri area. He began a career in the grocery business and worked for various stores in different areas. He and Melva had lived in the Lebanon area off and on through the years, and then moved here permanently in 2011. Daniel had worked at the Ramey’s Market in Lebanon for as long as his health allowed.
In his spare time he enjoyed riding motorcycles, and liked listening to music. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends. His family was very important to him and he especially liked having time with his grandchildren.
Daniel was a loving husband, dad, granddad, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
A memorial has been established and donations may be left at the funeral home.
