Danny Jordan's Obituary
Danny Wade Jordan, son of John Jasper and Eula Mae (Prock) Jordan, was born February 12, 1936, in Wright County, Missouri. He departed this life Monday, February 9, 2009, in Cox Medical Center South, in Springfield, Missouri at the age of seventy-two years, eleven months, and twenty-seven days.
On June 4, 1965 he was united in marriage to Ceola Mae Burris and to this union one son was born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Paul and Joel Jordan.
Danny is survived by his loving wife, Ceola, of the home; a son, Tim Jordan, of Hartville, Missouri; two brothers, Monte Jordan, and his wife, Della, of Rogersville, Missouri, and Reggie Jordan, and his wife, Judy, of Ozark, Missouri; one sister, Judith Ann Wihebrink, and her husband, Ron, of Cassville, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Alice Jordan, of Springfield, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
He was born and raised on the family farm in Wright County and graduated from Hartville High School in the class of 1953. After he met and married Ceola they moved to Kansas City, where he worked for Allis Chalmers. He later moved to Springfield and worked for Greene County Highway Department for fourteen years and retired in 1995. Then in 2003 they made their home in Hartville.
In his younger years he was a follower of the Church of Christ.
He worked very hard to support his family and loved working on the farm. In his spare time he enjoyed being outside, fishing, hunting and looking for Morel Mushrooms. He also had a great love for his Dachshund dogs.
Danny was a loving husband, father, brother, and uncle and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the wonderful memories he has created for his family and friends.
Services will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 14, 2009, in Holman-Howe Chapel, of Hartville, Missouri with burial in Durbin Cemetery, north of Hartville, under direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home, of Hartville. Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M. Friday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Fairhaven Children’s Home in Strafford, in care of Holman-Howe Funeral Home, P.O.
