Danny Meyer (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Danny Lee Meyer, son of the late Gerald William and Patricia Ann (Kerr) Meyer, was born on October 18, 1960 in Wabash, Indiana and departed this life on March 10, 2018 in New Orleans, Louisiana. At the time of his passing he was 57 years, 4 months and 23 days of age.
Danny Meyer was a man of many names such as, Gilligan, Tugboat, Burnit and Firecracker Dan. Danny was born in in Wabash, Indiana, started school in North Manchester, then attended a few grades in Arizona and later finished school in Buffalo. During school he milked cows so he could have money to pay for all the tires he would burn off his car. After school he moved to Oklahoma to drive for Mud Trans Trucking where he earned the name Gilligan. After his time with Mud Trans and he drove some for Howard Miller hauling grain. Once he finished his time on the road he decided to go to the Mississippi River and partake in the family heritage and work on the Tug Boats as an engineer where he earned the name “Tug Boat”. After returning to Dallas County he worked as a driller for Ground Source where he stayed for 13 years. When he wasn’t working beef cattle he loved to work with and sell fireworks; Everyone in the area of New Orleans knew him by “Firecracker Dan”. He was a loving grandfather and will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his spouse, Lisa Olson; his two sons, Derek (Kassie) Meyer and Daniel Lee Meyer Jr.; his two sisters, Jane (Lawrence) Wilson and Vickie (Kenny) Jamison; and four grandchildren, Grace Miller, Zoie Meyer, Kalea Meyer and Paisley Meyer. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, friends and family who will all truly miss him.
