Danny R. Nichols (Hartville)'s Obituary
Danny Russell Nichols, son of John Andrew Nichols and Ruby Jayne Nichols, was born on June 19, 1942 in Sulpher, Oklahoma. He was taken into God’s care on Monday, October 17, 2016 in Mountain Grove Missouri, at the age of seventy-four years, four months, and twenty-nine days.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Wayne and Paul Nichols; and two sisters, Fernon Speed, and Mildred Fowler.
Dan is survived by his son John Nichols; his daughter Nancy Wallace and her husband Mike; four sisters, Lavern Nichols, Elizabeth Hackler, Mary Talley, and Ila Lorenzia; seven grandchildren, Ruby Rachelle Barnes and her husband Ethan, Jaylynn Catherine Nichols, Jacob Daniel Nichols, Chance Dalley, Trevor Harlow, Krystle Porter, and Dakotah Wallace; seven great-grandchildren, Sabrina Dalley, Aidan Dalley, Kinsley Harlow, Willow Faith Porter, Keagan Nichols, Hunter Barnes, and Lucas Barnes; several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Dan was born and raised in Sulpher Oklahoma where he attended high school and made many friends. After he graduated high school, Dan decided to go into dairy farming and moved to Wright County shortly after turning thirty. It was here that Dan would find his home and do what he loved best, to spread and teach the Word of God.
Dan was baptized at a young age in Sulpher. When he moved to Wright County he joined the First Baptist Church in Hartville, Missouri where he attended every Sunday when he wasn’t preaching himself. When he was preaching regularly, he preached at Cedar Gap Baptist Church and led many people to Christ. In the early ninety’s, Dan started the Flying Mallard company and it is still in business to this day.
He enjoyed reading his Bible, talking on the phone, and watching westerns in his favorite recliner, but most importantly, Dan loved to spread God’s message and help anyone in need. He loved his family unconditionally and was always a phone call away.
Dan was a loving father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. We celebrate his life and many accomplishments. We will cherish the many wonderful memories he created.
Memorials can be made through Holman-Howe Funeral Home, P.P. Box 236, Hartville, Mo. 65667.
