Danny Ray Rains (Urbana)'s Obituary
Danny Rains of Theodosia, Missouri, left this world Sunday, April 22, 2023, in Sioux Falls, SD. Danny was born December 29, 1951, in Sioux City, Iowa. He was the son of George Rains and Delia Ann Taskan Rains Bottjen.
Danny had numerous jobs over his lifetime. The longest, and the one he loved, was driving trucks. He started his trucking career with his dad’s trucking company along with his brothers Kenny and David. Danny enjoyed his years in Theodosia, MO, fishing Bull Shoals Lake, riding his motorcycle, mowing his lawn at his cabin, and raising his chickens.
Danny is survived by his children, Kathy of Denver, CO, Jeremy of Council Bluffs, IA, Jesse of Yankton, SD, and Jake of Sioux City, IA; his mother, Delia Bottjen of Branson, MO; brother, David Rains of Protem, MO; sisters, Georgetta Grime of Henrietta, TX, Cindy Korver of Hollister, MO, Kelly Campbell of Branson, MO; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; many nephews and nieces; and his best buddy, Jeff Davis of Sioux Falls, SD. Danny was preceded in death by one son, Danny Ray Jr.; two grandchildren, Danni Kranz and Samantha Bergenske; one brother, Kenneth Rains; and his father, George Rains.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2023 in the Howard Chapel Cemetery in Urbana, Missouri, under the care and direction of the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. Escorts will be Jesse Rains, Jeremy Rains, Ron Lease, Jeff Davis, and Austin Kafton.
