Darlene Livingston (Mansfield)'s Obituary
Darlene Sue Livingston, daughter of William and Zelda Snow Laswell was born November 6, 1939 in Oakland City, Indiana and departed this life on November 20, 2013 in Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri at the age of seventy-four years and fourteen days.
On July 17, 1961 she was united in marriage to Donald R. Livingston, Sr. and to this union four children were born. Don preceded her in death on February 8, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Gary Petty; a great-grandson, Nicholas Brumley; a sister, Kathy, and a daughter-in-law, Peggy Livingston.
Darlene is survived by three sons, Donald R. Livingston, Jr., James Livingston and John Livingston all of Hartville, Missouri; a daughter, Becky Petty and her husband, Wilbur of Hartville, Missouri; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Earlene Smith of Madison, Illinois, Wanda Stavely of Granite City, Illinois and Rene Pierceson of Marionville, Missouri; a brother, William F. Laswell of Madison, Illinois, as well as several nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends.
She was born in Indiana and moved with her family to Illinois after her sophomore year in high school. After graduating, she met and married Don and lived in Illinois until moving to Mansfield in 1976. She had worked at Tobin-Hamilton Shoe Factory in Mansfield for several years as well as being a devoted homemaker. After Don’s passing, she moved to Hartville where she lived the rest of her life.
Darlene has made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Mansfield First Baptist Church.
In her spare time she loved to read and in the last few years enjoyed playing games on her IPOD.
Darlene was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will cherish the special memories we have of her.
