Darlene Truitt (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Darlene Latiker Pate Truitt passed away August 18, 2025, after a short battle with cancer. Brenda Darlene was born November 7, 1945, to Fred and Velma (Henry) Latiker. She was the only girl, with an older brother Leon and younger brother Jack. She was united in marriage to Bill Pate on April 11, 1966. They were blessed with two children, Tammy and Timothy. She married Wayne Truitt February 14, 1994. They enjoyed 17 years together until his death in 2011. Darlene retired from Family Pharmacy, following many years at Dan and Stan’s Pharmacy. In her retirement, she volunteered with the Polk County Senior Center. She attended First Baptist Church, Bolivar. Her greatest joy was spending time with her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She spent at least one day a week with her great-grandchildren, even during her illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Leon and Jack, son Timothy and son-in-law Wade Bolen. She is survived by her daughter Tammy Bolen, grandchildren Brittani Haynes and Brandon Bolen, and great-grandchildren Caitlin Haynes and Colton Chambers. She is also survived by nephews Robert and Leesa Coulter, Ron and Robin Coulter, Jack and Karen Pate, Gene Ray and Glenda Pate and Dean and Michele Pate, and niece Janet Pate. Funeral services for Darlene will be held at 1 pm on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar. A visitation will take place from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday, August 21, 2025, also at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery, Bolivar. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Citizens Memorial Hospital Hospice, Bolivar.
