David Bristow (Mansfield)'s Obituary
David William Bristow, son of William Leonard Bristow and Retha Orene King Wihebrink was born March 24, 1945 in Ponca City, Oklahoma and departed this life on March 21, 2017 at his home in Mansfield, Missouri at the age of seventy-one years, eleven months and twenty-one days.
He was united in marriage to Jo Ellen (Elliott) Bristow on April 9, 1995 and they have made their home near Mansfield for several years.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jo Ellen; his father, Leonard; his mother Retha; his grandparents Samuel & Lena King; and his brother Randle Leonard.
David is survived by his children, Tana Lee , David Jr., Daniel, Leslie, and Christina; nine grandchildren, Chelsea, Kevin, Destiny, Kayla, Brianna, Austin, Houston, Hayes, Haidyn; one great-granddaughter, Sadie Elizabeth; sister, Carol and step-brother, Ronald; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and many friends.
David attended school in Marshfield, Missouri. He retired from the U.S. Navy after proudly serving for 26 years, with two tours of duty in Vietnam. Following his career in the Navy he drove a semi-truck for 16 years.
David had made a profession of faith in Christ.
He loved the band Queen, corvettes, and his beloved pets, Oscar, Annabelle, Buzzie and Baby. During his Navy career, he was able to see the world. During his semi-truck career, he was able to see most of United States.
David was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, grandson, brother, nephew and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and will always cherish the many wonderful times we had together.
