David Wayne Culbertson (Bolivar)'s Obituary
David Wayne Culbertson, 62, of Russellville, MO passed away Thursday, July 11, 2019 at the Veterans’ Hospital in Little Rock, Ar.
David was born October 14, 1956 in Kansas City, MO to Norman and Jewell Bullard Culbertson. Growing up, David loved to play the role of a clown. He loved to sit on the ground, and tell his family that he was the TV. He was always sure to get laughs. For those who knew David well, they knew he how fun he really was.
In his adult life, David grew in his technical skills. He excelled at any craft he attempted, and was a gifted carpenter, electrician, and landscaper. David's technical mastery was most evident in mechanics. His ability to build and fix cars was second to none. He was known to be able to diagnose a car's problems over the phone. He put this skill to use in the building of race cars, and his favorite projects, a 1940 Chevy coupe and a 1970 Corvette.
When he wasn’t working on engines, "Dad-Man" could be found at the grill or by the pond fishing. He could also be working on his spot-on Urkel impression. To many, David was more reserved, but he had the utmost love for friends and family, and they in turn loved him dearly.
David is survived by the love of his life and wife of 44 years, Cheryl a.k.a., "Shadow". He is also survived by his children; David Wayne Culbertson, Jr., Norman D. Culbertson, Summer Culbertson, Nadia Dooley and husband Mike, and Wendy Culbertson, as well as his siblings; Bill Culbertson and wife Sharon, Judy Flud, Phillip Culbertson and wife Sheila, Sherry Hudson, Waunita McCrorey and husband Delmar, his mother Jewell Culbertson, and eight grandchildren.
David is preceded in death by his father, Norman Culbertson.
A funeral service for David Culbertson will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, MO. Visitation will take place the hour prior. Burial will take place at Akard Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in David’s honor to the Pope County Humane Society in Russellville, Ar.
