David Duck Eaton's Obituary
David Lester Eaton, son of David Lawrence and Martha Emaline Hurt Eaton, was born July 19, 1930, in Hartville, Missouri. He departed this life Friday, October 3, 2008, in his home in Camdenton, Missouri, at the age of seventy-eight years, two months and fourteen days. On February 19, 1955, in Macks Creek, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Georgia Lucille Bentch; and to this union four children were born. Together they shared the past fifty-three years. He was preceded in death by his parents, David Lawrence and Martha Emaline Eaton; a grandson, Brian Boze; three sisters, Thelma Fowler, Mamie Ortner and Rosie Corder; and three brothers, Orville Bohannon, Allen Bohannon and Morris Davis. Survivors include his loving wife, Lucille Eaton, of the home; a son, Dave Eaton and his wife, Karri, of Eldridge, Missouri; three daughters, Kathy Boze and her husband, Ed, of Springfield, Missouri, Ruth Webster and her husband, Dan of Macks Creek, Missouri, and Brenda Amato and her husband, Louis, of Neosho, Missouri; twelve grandchildren, Doug Boze, Brian Boze (deceased), Louis Amato, Jr., Michael Amato, Danny, Misty, Megan, Andrea and Amber Webster and Lynette, Emily and Hannah Eaton; eight great-grandchildren, Shelby, Haidyn, Rylee, Sydney, Hunter, Hadley, Reagan and Reese; two sisters, Eula Hill and Mable Capps both of Camdenton, Missouri; a mother-in-law, Ilene Bentch of Macks Creek, Missouri; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and many friends. Duck was raised in Camdenton and attended school there. He enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country during the Korean War. After being honorably discharged, he worked in California and Kansas City for a time and returned to Camdenton, where he worked as a sprayer for Blair Cedar for over thirty-five years. He made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Ira Missionary Baptist Church in Eldridge. Duck was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Osage Beach. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Most of all, he enjoyed time spent with his family and friends. Duck was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and was a caring neighbor and friend. He left a positive impression on many lives, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday October 6, 2008 at the Allee- Holman- Howe Funeral Home. Burial will be in Allee- Memorial Gardens.Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 3-5:00 pm under the direction of the Allee- Holman- Howe Funeral Home Camdenton, Missouri. Return to top
