David Michael Hanlon (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Dave’s journey began on February 8, 1945 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota where he was born to William (Bill) and Vivian (Vi) Hanlon. He grew up adventurous and fun loving with one older brother, Billy Hanlon. They enjoyed horses, fast cars, and helping their Dad with the garbage route. Dave met the love of his life, Heddy Hine at Washington High School after he turned her desk around in study hall to face his. He married his love, Heddy, on February 9th 1963. They began their family and had two beautiful daughters, Dawn and Lynn. They enjoyed 54 years together. Heddy passed away in 2017. Dave then met Pat Borovsky and they built a life together over the past several years. They enjoyed watching cowboy movies, taking drives around the lake, and going to the races. They also enjoyed attending the Galmey Community Bible Church and sharing meals with friends. In addition to his family, Dave loved being outdoors and managing a hobby farm outside of Sioux Falls. He loved to tinker in his shop and going to auctions to buy anything from livestock to tools, to tractors. Dave loved all children and enjoyed supporting St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. He also loved animals especially his puppy Pixie, and his cats, Miss Kitty, Smokey, and Sparky. These were his “favorite children”. Dave was a career truck driver and enjoyed receiving the Individual Million Miler award in recognition of his outstanding safety record. His love of riding Harley Davidson motorcycles spanned over half of his life. He attended the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis, SD many times over the years. Dave’s final hours were spent exactly where he wanted to be, at home with his loving family by his side. Dave is survived by his Significant Other, Pat Borovsky; his daughters, Dawn and Steve Ingalls (Sioux Falls), and Lynn Rieger (Sioux Falls); four grandsons: Dustin (Ashley) Ingalls, Michael (Lyndsay) Ingalls, Nathan (Shelby) Rieger, and David (Randi) Rieger and eleven great grandchildren. Dave was preceded in death by his parents; Bill and Vi Hanlon; his wife, Heddy Hanlon; his brother, Billy Hanlon; and a host of other friends and relatives. A Memorial service for David will be Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at the Galmey Community Bible Church in Glamey, Missouri, starting at 10:00 AM.
