David Lee Rogers' Obituary
David Lee Rogers, son of Archie Irvin and Mary Elizabeth Eilenstine Rogers, was born July 27, 1940, near Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Saturday, February 4, 2006, in his home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty-five years, six months, and seven days. On July 23, 1960, he was united in marriage to Barbara Ann Daniels, and together they shared the last forty-five years. He was preceded in death by his parents; a great-granddaughter, Ciera Elizabeth Rogers; three brothers, Teddy, Clyde Jackson, and J. D. Rogers; and a sister, Clara Mae Ernst. David is survived by his loving wife, Barbara, of the home; a daughter, Diana Lynn Daniels, of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Donald Rogers, and his wife, Tina, of Lebanon, Missouri; four grandchildren, Sonia Lynn Daniels, Angela Marie, Justin Lee, and Stephanie Ann Rogers; three sisters, Elizabeth Sue Purcell, and Nondis Jane Shumate, and her husband, John, all of Lebanon, Missouri, and Patty Ann Robertson, of Scappoose, Oregon; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in the Lebanon area and graduated from Lebanon High School in the Class of 1957. Shortly after he and Barbara were married, they made their home on their farm near Lebanon, and lovingly raised their family. For twenty-four years, David worked for the H. D. Lee Company in Lebanon and then did woodworking projects in his shop for the last several years. David had made his profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church near Russ. In his spare time he enjoyed reading, coin collecting, being out on the tractor, and taking camping trips to the log cabin. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. David was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments, and will treasure the memories he made for his family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday. February 8, 2006, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. Memorial contributions to the Diabetes Foundation may be made through the funeral home.
