David Alan Loetel (Bolivar)'s Obituary
David Alan Loetel peacefully passed away on July 28, 2024, at age 77 surrounded by his wife, daughter, stepson and amazing CMH CNA staff.
David was born in Kansas City Kansas on August 28th, 1946. He was a lifelong Chiefs and Royals fan and had a passion for all things golf. David worked for Transworld Airlines (TWA) for most of his adult life and stayed on to aid the American Airlines merger until he retired.
David married the love of his life Jeannette Loetel on March 3rd, 2003, and the pair moved to Bolivar MO to run their storage business. David became a fixture in the local community while he ran the day to day operations at the storage units. He was always very social and friendly with those he came into contact with. David and Jeannette built a house on the Silo Ridge golf course, marking a lifelong dream of his. In his spare time David was on the golf course enjoying his passion for the sport; he even created a” golf room” in their new house to showcase his love of the sport. However as much he may have loved golf, the chiefs and Royals, none compared to the love he had for his family. David was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and son.
Jeannette was by his side everyday taking care of him and advocating for the best care possible. The family would like to thank the amazing CNA’s and staff of CMH for their kindness, compassion and care they provided David over the last few years. The staff went above and beyond to ensure David was cared for and making him comfortable in his last few days.
David was preceded in death by his parents Nadine and Alfred, daughter Christine, and brother Jim. He is survived by his wife Jeannette, daughter Stephanie and her husband Allen, grandchildren Olivia, Harrison and Gabriela, sister Susan and her husband Dennis Davis, and brother Eddie and his wife Deirdre.
The Rosary for David will begin at 1:00 PM and visitation will follow from 1:30 - 3:00 PM on Friday, August 16, 2024 at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar.
