David Leon Maple, Sr. (Lebanon)'s Obituary
David Leon Maple, Sr. was born September 16, 1959 to Cicero Maple, Sr. and Mary Maple in Madison, Illinois. He went on to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 18, 2024 in Riverbend Heights Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lexington, Missouri. He was sixty-four years, four months and two days of age at the time of his passing.
David grew up in Madison and Venice, Illinois and attended public school there. He was very gifted at basketball and loved the sport very much. He also enjoyed fishing. He was introduced to fishing at a young age and it grew to be his favorite hobby.
While he was attending high school, he met Rosetta and they were blessed with a son, David Leon Maple, Jr.
David learned about the Lord early on and attended church with his family at the Church of God in Christ.
He made a career out of washing and detailing vehicles. In November of 1998, he was employed at a car wash in Town and Country, Missouri where he would become manager. People loved the way David cleaned and detailed their cars. This opportunity led him to start his own business. He was one of the first to proudly start a mobile detailing service called “Resurrector of Detailing”.
It was while he was at the car wash he met Kayembi Thomas and they were married June 25, 1999. To this union two children were born, a son, David Hashim Thomas-Maple and a daughter, Deborah Louise Rachel Thomas-Maple.
David was preceded in death by his parents; his son David Maple, Jr.; his brothers, Derek and Craig; and his sister, Frances White.
He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Thomas-Maple of Lebanon, Missouri; his son, David Thomas-Maple, of Camdenton, Missouri; his former wife, Kayembi Thomas; two grandchildren, David Leon Maple, III and Kaleb Maple; two brothers, Carlos Maple of Alexandria, Louisiana and Cicero Maple of Carthage, Missouri; his sister, Donita Helm and her husband Kenneth of Alorton, Illinois; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones.
David moved to Lebanon, Missouri in 2018. He was a baptized believer in Jesus Christ and was a member at Harvest Church in Lebanon. He was ready to spend eternity in Heaven with his Lord and Savior.
After moving to Lebanon, he was involved in the community by volunteering at the food pantry, Senior Citizen Center, and touched many lives while working at Laclede Industries.
Most of all, he loved his family. His life revolved around them and he looked forward to spending time and making special memories with them. He was an extremely loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. His family and friends will cherish and hold tight to the memories he made with them.
