David W. Matney (Lebanon)'s Obituary
David W. Matney of Lebanon, Missouri was born June 23, 1957 to Harold Matney and Mildred Wolff Matney in Kansas City, Missouri. He passed away Monday, July 10, 2023 in Northwest Medical Center in Springdale, Arkansas, at the age of sixty-six years and seventeen days.
His family moved to Denver, Colorado where he graduated from East High School. He then went to Paramedic School and Training and was employed by Haley’s Ambulance and Denver General Paramedic Division. He retired from this is 1990.
On June 13, 1981, David married the love of his life, Cheryl Roths Matney and they had one daughter, AnnMarie Matney.
In 2003, David moved his family to Lebanon, Missouri. He joined the Elk’s organization at that time and was active in the Elk’s Lodge from that point forward.
David was preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother, who was stillborn.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Cheryl; his daughter, AnnMarie Matney of Lebanon, Missouri; his brother, Robert Matney of Lebanon, Missouri; and a sister, Katherine McCall and her husband, Charles of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews, several great-nieces and great-nephews, as well as several “adopted” children in Lebanon, Missouri.
David loved to go fishing and being outdoors in the beautiful Ozarks. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother and a faithful friend. The good times and memories will live in the hearts of those he knew and loved for many years to come.
Services for David Matney will be Monday, July 17, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home. A visitation will be Sunday, July 16 at 4 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home.
A memorial has been established and donations may be left at the funeral home.
