David McNish (Seymour)'s Obituary
David Allen McNish, son of Harvey Allen and Eva Marie Cantrell McNish, was born May 17, 1943 in Fordland, Missouri and departed this life on June 30, 2019 at Webco Manor in Marshfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy-six years, one month, and thirteen days.
He was united in marriage to Joyce Colleen Burks on January 12, 1968 and to this union two children were born. Joyce preceded him in death on July 13, 2007. He was also preceded in death by his parents, brother, Charles McNish, and son-in-law, Jeff Brooks.
David is survived by a son, Steven McNish and wife, Natalie Beth, and their two children, Davin Riley and Avery Cole; daughter, Dawn Brooks and her three children, Jessica Dawn Irwin and husband, Brandon, Myranda Corine Gooch and husband, Trevor, and Austin David Wayne Brooks; three great-grandchildren, Zane, Lakota, and Peyton Irwin, other relatives and many friends.
He was born and raised in Fordland and graduated from Fordland High School in the Class of 1961, then served his country faithfully in the United States Army. David was the owner of D & J Body Works for 25 years and retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 14 years of service.
In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, working on cars, repainting stock cars for friends and family, and sitting on the porch with his pets, friends, and family. He supported his children through all their sports and activities and was especially proud when he was his children’s softball and football coach. Vacations were spent boating and camping at the lake with his family. He loved to entertain his five grandchildren with tractor and gator rides on the farm and showed them great love.
David Allen McNish, was a loving husband, father, grandfather, neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and will always remember the great times we had together.
