David Prater (Lebanon)'s Obituary
David Lee Prater, son of Walter Lonnie and Mary Ann Sien Prater, was born June 25, 1958, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Sunday, January 9, 2011, in St. John’s Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of fifty-two years, six months, and fourteen days.
He was preceded in death by his father; a niece; his maternal grandparents, Fred and Bonnie Sien; and his paternal grandparents, Fred and Olive Prater.
David is survived by his mother, Mary Dowden, of Bolivar, Missouri; three daughters, Tabathia Prater, of Phillipsburg, Missouri, Regina Smith, of Fulton, Missouri, and Lacy Smith; a granddaughter, Britney Prater, of Bolivar, Missouri; a stepson, Clifford Asbell, of Lebanon, Missouri; a brother, Lonnie Prater, of Lebanon, Missouri; a sister, Bonnie Rabe, and her husband, Jim, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Lebanon area, and graduated from Lebanon High School. He then made his home in Lebanon, where he worked for Tracker Marine for several years.
In his spare time he enjoyed collecting guns, knives, coins, and eagles. He liked being outdoors where his favorite activities were hunting and fishing. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. His family was important to him and he enjoyed spending time with them.
David was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
