David Russell's Obituary
avid Wayne Russell, son of the Reverend Charles and Wanda Jean LueAllen Russell, was born August 9, 1948 in Seymour, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, June 24, 2008 in Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, Missouri at the age of fifty-nine years, ten months, and fifteen days. On July 14, 1967, David was united in marriage to Rebecca Jo Brumback and together they have shared nearly forty-one years. David was preceded in death by his father, and his father-in-law, Johnnie Paul Brumback. He is survived by his loving wife, Becky, of the home; his son, Heath Russell, of the home; two daughters, Michelle Lawrence and her husband, Mike, of Seymour, Missouri, and Nikki Russell, of the home; a grandson, Mark Lawrence, of Seymour, Missouri; his mother, Wanda Russell, of Seymour, Missouri; a sister, Janet Swearengin, of Rogersville, Missouri; two nieces, Amanda Allman and her husband, Chris, of Clever, Missouri, and their sons, Justin and Nick, and Lori Rabourn and her husband, Shane, of Rogersville, Missouri; an uncle, Herb LueAllen, of Seymour, Missouri; his mother-in-law, JoAnn Brumback, of Seymour, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Pauletta Rogers, and her husband, Gary, of Ozark, Missouri, and their daughters, Lori Nichols, and her husband, Gary, of Springfield, Missouri, and Jackie Rogers of Ozark, Missouri; as well as host of other relatives and many dear friends. David spent all of his life in Seymour where he graduated from Seymour High School in the Class of 1966, and he and Becky owned and operated a beef cattle farm and the D and B Conoco Station for nine years. He had also worked at Wal-Mart for thirteen years, and at the time of his death was working as a materials technician for Cox Health Central Stores. David had accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior whom he loved to honor and serve in his daily life. He was a member of the Diggins Baptist Church and was very involved in his church, serving as a Deacon and a Sunday School Teacher. He had also served as the song leader and as a Vacation Bible School Director. He was a member of the Hazelwood Masonic Lodge #159 AF and AM in Seymour. David was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, and working on his farm whenever possible. He loved basketball and had kept the stats for the Seymour Tigers Team for ten years, and enjoyed spending time with all the kids. David was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle, nephew, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the wonderful memories he has created for his family and many dear friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 27, 2008, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Seymour. Burial will be in the Seymour Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience. Memorials to Feed the Children Organization may be made through the funeral home.
