David Lee Sawyers (Lebanon)'s Obituary
David Lee Sawyers was born May 14, 1965 in Kansas to Lewis Sawyers and Norma (Wakefield) Sawyers. He passed away Sunday, May 11, 2025 in his home in Lebanon, Missouri. He was just three days shy of celebrating his sixtieth birthday.
David was raised in Humansville, Missouri and graduated from Humansville High School. He continued his education at Missouri Valley College where he earned his Bachelor’s degree and also received a Master’s degree in Education from Southwest Baptist University.
On January 30, 1991, David was united in marriage to Sandy Morris and to this union, three sons were born. Together they have shared over thirty-four years of happy memories while overcoming the challenges of life.
He is preceded in death by his father, Lewis; and his sister, Karen Sawyers.
David is survived by his loving wife, Sandy; his sons, Neal Sawyers of Columbia, Missouri, Hunter Sawyers of Lebanon, Missouri, and Landon Sawyers of Germany; and his mother, Norma Kurz of Bolivar, Missouri.
David had a career as a Physical Education teacher and a coach. He taught all grades and was the coach for the Conway Lady Bears basketball team. He was a huge sports fan and a student of sports.
David was a member of the Elks Club in Clinton, Missouri. He followed sports of all kinds and enjoyed playing golf and going fishing.
We celebrate his life and accomplishments and know that his family and friends will treasures the wonderful memories he made with them.
Service for David will be private. A memorial has been established for Ozarks Food Harvest and contributions may be left at the Funeral Home.
