We lived down the gravel road from Dean and Pat for several years. Often times we would stop and visit with Dean while he was working his cattle. He was so kind and loved to visit. He was such a wonderful person and will be missed by many!

Our family grew up with Dean and Pat's family, and there were so many memories. Dean was a good solid friend to so many, and he remained in contact with people through facebook and always called me by name, and ask about my family, thanks Dean for all the time spent with church family, and farm families around Laclede county and for your devotion to teaching. And to your family, my prayers go out to you.
My deepest condolences to the family. Dean’s legacy lives on in his beautiful family. What a tribute to a man’s life when his role as an educator is embraced through the generations: his daughter, Raquel, and his granddaughter, Alaina. His stature of strength is evidence in his grandson Caleb, towering tall foremost in character. So many stories have been told over the years of Dean’s steadfastness. It’s obvious he’s writing continued past the refrigeration textbook; he’s left a life’s manual by his model. Thank You Dean for a life well lived … your smile will be missed but your legacy transcends this earthly life.

I worked many years with Dean. He was a great guy and loved teaching students. He loved his children and Patricia above all.
