Mr. Dean Joseph Cain age 74 of Urbana, Missouri passed away Saturday December 7, 2019. He was born December 15, 1944 in Eldora, Iowa to Henry and Ruth Cain.
Dean attended Beaman-Conrad School where he met the love of his life, Jeane McCubbin. The two were married on October 20, 1962 in Conrad, Iowa. After they were married they moved to the family farm outside of Beaman, Iowa where he took over the farm operation. Into this union two children were born, a son Joel Henry and a daughter Carmen Ruth.
After high school along with farming Dean worked at Howdy Folks Massey Ferguson dealership in Conrad, Iowa and Thomas Implement in Beaman, Iowa. After four or five years he was lucky enough to start living his dream of custom baling, row cropping, buying/trading machinery, hauling sprayers and raising cattle.
After vacationing many summers to Pomme de Terre in 1994 they made it their permanent home. His passion of farming and cattle followed him.
He was preceded in death by his parents Henry Cain and Ruth Cain Simms.
Dean is survived by his wife of 57 years or as he would say 157 years Jeane, son Joel and wife Missy Cain, daughter Carmen and husband Richard McCarty, grandson Tyler and wife Crystal Melton, granddaughters Maddy and Kali McCarty, and great granddaughters Marcy, Hazel and Elise Melton, sisters Sharon and husband Roger Ziesman, Marilyn Bachman and Shirley Ramundt.
Dean loved his wife, kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, dogs and TRACTORS. He made sure we took a family vacation every year to enjoy fishing, boating and camping.
He had such an infectious smile and never met a stranger. His passion for the “FARM” life lives on thru his kids and grandkids.
