Dean Lasater (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Dean Lasater, 86, of Wheatland, Mo passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Citizens’ Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, MO.
Dean was born on June 7, 1931 to Luey and Hazel Adams Lasater. Over the years, Dean would wear a great many hats. He worked cattle and enjoyed it immensely. He would also spend time as a restaurant owner in Collins, a fire fighter in Kansas City, which led to a position as the chauffeur for the Mayor of Kansas City.
Dean’s form of relaxation was to remain busy. He enjoyed buying and restoring 1959 Cadillacs, and even restored one that would go on to win 1st place in the Humansville parade in 1986. He enjoyed tinkering and attempting to fix things, and used this hobby to stay sharp. He also enjoyed fishing on Pomme de Terre, where he had retired.
Dean and Dianne loved spending their time travelling, and had spent many years in their motor home journeying across North America. They made many friends along the way, and enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the United States, and particularly the nature of Canada. They also enjoyed their excursions to Arizona, where they would often find themselves riding Jeeps in the desert.
Dean was a kind and tender-hearted man, and his legacy will be greatly remembered.
Dean is survived by his loving wife, Dianne, of Wheatland, MO, his sister, Shirley Muza and husband Gary of Topeka, KS, as well as a number of nephews and dear friends.
A memorial contribution can be made in Dean’s honor to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
