Debbi King's Obituary
Deborah Kay King, daughter of Joseph P. and Dorothy Ryan Hart, was born October 23, 1954, in Memphis, Tennessee. She departed this life Saturday, August 13, 2011, in her home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of fifty-six years, nine months, and twenty days. On August 6, 1988, she was united in marriage to James Orland King, and they shared fifteen years before his passing on September 13, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Debbi, as she was called by her family and friends, is survived by a daughter, Phoebe Hendricks, and her husband, Willie, of Mountain View, Missouri; a son, Joe King, and his wife, Kathy, of Washington, Missouri; six grandchildren ;her fianc?, Gene Foster, of Lebanon, Missouri; two brothers, Arnie Hart, of West Liberty, Iowa, and Clifford Hart, of Port Clinton, Ohio; a sister, Donna Vanderhorn, of Muscatine, Iowa; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born in Tennessee, and was raised in Iowa, where she graduated from the Muscatine High School. She continued to make her home in Iowa for several years until moving to Sulfur Springs, Texas. After she and Jim were married, they made their home near Lebanon, Missouri. Throughout the years, Debbi was a devoted homemaker to her family and she and Jim also owned and managed rental properties for several years. Debbi was a volunteer at Crosslines Ministry in Lebanon, an organization that she held dear to her heart. She was a licensed Master Gardener and loved growing beautiful flowers. She also enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren. Debbi was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them.
