Deborah M. Huckaby (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Deborah May Huckaby, daughter of Paul Oral and Dorothy May Francis Woods Higgins, was born January 10, 1956, in Buffalo, Missouri. She departed this life Thursday, January 14, 2021, in Boone Medical Center, in Columbia, Missouri, at the age of sixty-five years, and four days.
She was united in marriage to George Leroy Huckaby and this union was blessed with two daughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George; and two brothers, Clifford and Paul Higgins.
Debbie is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Huckaby, and Christy Williams, both of Lebanon, Missouri; four grandchildren, Christopher Paul Huckaby Johnson, Dale Williams, both of Lebanon, Missouri, Erin Nichole Newberry and Kaylee Newberry, both of Springfield, Missouri; two brothers, Ronnie Higgins, and his wife, Stacy “Chris”, of Springfield, Missouri, and Larry Higgins, of Lebanon, Missouri; three sisters, Connie Rice, of Lebanon, Missouri, Nancy Carter, of Warsaw, Missouri, and Brenda Croak, of Springfield, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Buffalo, Missouri area and attended Buffalo Schools. After she and George were married, they made their home in the Lebanon area, and lovingly raised their daughters. Debbie was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family throughout the years.
Debbie attended Tabernacle Baptist Church for several years, and then enjoyed religious services at the care center later in her life.
She enjoyed doing craft projects, listening to gospel music and visiting with family and friends. She liked soda fountain drinks and honey buns. She had a joyful disposition and liked everyone. Her family was very dear to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
Debbie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan. 20 at 2 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery.
A memorial has been established and may be left at the funeral home.
