Deborah L. Thompson (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Deborah “Debbie” L. Thompson was born August 11, 1957 in Rolla, Missouri to Delmar Francis and Rosalie Cason Lortz. She entered eternal rest on Saturday, February 14, 2026 in Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. She was sixty-eight years, six months and three days of age.
Debbie is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Thompson; her brothers, Eugene Lortz and Delmar Lortz; and an infant sister.
She is survived by her significant other, Bryan Rupe of Lebanon, Missouri; two sisters, Sue Enloe of The Villages, Florida and Rosann Havens of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin; two brothers, Chester Lortz of Cranbury, New Jersey and Richard Lortz of Memphis, Tennessee; and other friends and relatives.
Debbie grew up in the Vichy and Belle Communities in Maries County, Missouri and graduated from Belle High School. She went on to marry Jerry Thompson.
After moving to Lebanon, Debbie drove a school bus for Lebanon and Joel E. Barber school districts. She also sold tools and other miscellaneous items, at various sales venues.
Debbie was a member at First Baptist Church for several years and loved God and her church family. She enjoyed volunteering at Vacation Bible School for many years and enjoyed the choir at church.
She enjoyed going to Yard Sales and finding bargains. She had a love for Disney characters, especially Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
Her kindness, strength, and unwavering spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
A graveside service for Deborah Thompson will be held Friday, February 20, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Roper Cemetery. Friends may call at their convenience.
