Della Barrett's Obituary
Della Marie Garrison Barrett, daughter of Samuel and Fadeen Wheeler Garrison, was born September 6, 1930 in Houstonia, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday, January 26, 2008 in Monterey Park Nursing Center, Independence, Missouri, at the age of seventy-seven years, four months and nineteen days. She was preceded in death by her parents; a great-grandson, James Alexander Pummill; and four brothers, Alfred, Sam Jr., Herbert and Charlie. Survivors include a son, Mike Pummill and his wife, Darla, of Blue Springs, Missouri; three grandsons, Michael Pummill, Sr. and his wife, Therese, of Overland Park, Kansas, Dan Pummill and his wife, Cindy, and Kenny Pummill, all of Independence, Missouri; five great-grandchildren, Katlin, Michael Jr., Cory, Jaycee and Frankie; three sisters, Nadine Richey of Independence, Missouri, Corine Wallace of Marshall, Missouri and Frieda Hursman of Cole Camp, Missouri; a brother, Larry Garrison of Sweet Springs, Missouri; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Della was raised in the rural areas of Sedalia, Sweet Springs and Houstonia. She worked in the Levi Factory in Sedalia. In 1985 she started work as a hostess for McDonald’s on Highway KK in Osage Beach. She made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Buffalo Prairie Baptist Church in Montreal. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting and knitting. Most of all, she enjoyed time spent with family and friends. Della was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and was a loving neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will cherish all the memories she created for her family and friends. A private burial service will be held under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri. Return to top
