Delores Everage's Obituary
Delores Peggy Everage, daughter of Frank Yates and Alberta Edwards Dalton, was born November 29, 1933, in Mill Spring, North Carolina. She departed this life Wednesday, October 21, 2009, in Christian Health Care North, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-five years, ten months, and twenty-two days. On December 10, 1954, she was united in marriage to Daniel Boone Everage, and to this union one son was born. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Daniel, on September 29, 2001; and a brother, William Dalton. Delores is survived by a son, Rodney Everage, and his wife, Lois, of Lynchburg, Missouri; three grandchildren, Jason, Justin, and Nicholas; three great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Ryan, and Caleb; a brother, John Grady Dalton, of Dayton, Ohio; two nieces; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in North Carolina and in Michigan. After she and Daniel were married, they made their home in various locations wherever Daniel was employed. For several years, they lived in and around Detroit, Michigan. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, Delores also worked as a bookkeeping supervisor for the State of Michigan. In 1998, Delores and Daniel moved to Lebanon, Missouri and enjoyed their retirement years. Delores had made her profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church near Lebanon. Throughout her life she had been active in Baptist churches wherever they lived. In her spare time she enjoyed collecting dolls and shopping in general. She possessed a strong-willed personality and a very generous heart, especially toward children. She had taken care of her parents during their later years, and enjoyed being with her family. Delores was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday October 23, 2009 at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri. A memorial has been established to the Antioch Cemetery Care Fund.
