Delores Ann Jennings (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Delores Ann Jennings, daughter of Lloyd and Mary Wanda Clark Hicks, was born July 14, 1942, near Niangua, Missouri. She departed this life Friday, February 24, 2017, in Lebanon South Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-four years, seven months, and ten days.
On March 4, 1959, she was united in marriage to Thomas H. Jennings, and to this union four sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Johnny Thomas and Tommy Wayne Jennings; and a brother, Levon Hicks.
Delores is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Tom, of the home; two sons, Tony Jennings, and his wife, Leslie Ann, and Tim Jennings, and his wife, Deanna, all of Lebanon, Missouri; six grandchildren, Abigail Waterman, and her husband, Frank, Aaron, Seth, Sara, Hannah, and Joseph; a brother, Danny Jennings, and his wife, Teresa, of Marshfield, Missouri; three sisters, Darlene Hicks, of Lebanon, Missouri, Donna Lee, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Debbie Hicks, of Sleeper, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in the Morgan community, and graduated from Lebanon High School in the Class of 1959. After she and Tom were married, they made their home in the Lebanon area, and lovingly raised their sons. Delores was a devoted homemaker to her family and also worked at the Rice Stix Factory and Breech Hospital for a few years. She then worked for the H. D. Lee Company for many years. Later, she worked at Marathon Electric and Lebanon South Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for a time.
Delores had professed her faith in Christ and was a member of Trinity Full Gospel Church near Eldridge, Missouri.
She liked going to yard sales, taking care of her lawn, and growing beautiful flowers. She had a gift of hospitality and enjoyed cooking for her family. She also liked eating out and fishing. She dearly loved her Jack Russell puppies and her cats. She put her family and her faith in the center of her life and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Delores was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will hold tight to the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
