Dencil McGuire (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Dencil McGuire, son of Noble and Birdie Gertrude Denny McGuire, was born April 29, 1935, in Laclede County, Missouri. He departed this life Thursday, November 27, 2014, in his home in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-nine years, six months, and twenty-eight days.
On May 18, 1954, he was united in marriage to Joan Tadlock, and to this union two sons and a daughter were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Rocky McGuire; three brothers, Gilbert McGuire, Delbert McGuire, and Dean McGuire; and two great-grandchildren, Marco and Bradley.
Dencil is survived by his wife, Joan, of the home; a daughter, Kathi Dalke, of Lebanon; a son, Rick McGuire, and his wife, Linnea, of Mission, Kansas; two sisters, Louise Henson, and her husband, Wilbert, of Peculiar, Missouri, and Gracie Tooley, of Ozark, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Malissa, Ami, Rachel, Brandon, Shelly, Dustin, Roxanne, and Chris; eleven great-grandchildren, Reilli, Peyton, Logan, Kathryn, Jassmine, Trenten, Gavin, Makennah, Tanner, Zachary, Nicholas, and Jerrell; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born in Laclede County, Missouri, and grew up in the area, attending Ivey School. After he and Joan were married, they made their home in Kansas City, Kansas. Dencil was the groundskeeper at the Tomahawk Hills Golf Course in Shawnee Mission, Kansas, for many years.
After he and Joan moved back to Lebanon, they became members of the South Highway 5 Church of Christ.
In his spare time, Dencil enjoyed collecting antiques, growing flowers and working in his yard. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed joking around. He especially liked to play cards, in particular Rook.
Dencil was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories he created for them during his seventy-nine years.
