Denis R. Forbes (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Denis Ray Forbes was born March 22, 1959 to Lowell Forbes and Nancy Carr Forbes in Pittsburg, Kansas. He passed away Sunday, January 21, 2024 in Conway, Missouri at the age of sixty-four.
Denis grew up in Frontenac and Pittsburg, Kansas area and was a 1977 graduate of Pleasanton High School.
Following High School, Denis began his career in the construction industry and was employed with Heckert Construction and Palmer-Cole Company in Pittsburg, Kansas.
On June 7, 2000, Denis was united in marriage to Peggy. They shared twenty-two years of laughter and memories before her passing on August 20, 2022.
After moving to Lebanon, Missouri, he owned Forbes Truck and Equipment Repair. He was good at his trade and excelled in diesel repair.
Denis was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy; his son, John Pettyjohn; and his father, Lowell Forbes.
He is survived by his daughters, Anna Chatmon and her husband Anthony of Frontenac, Kansas, Abigail Kirsch of Pittsburg, Kansas, Heather Weddle and her husband Ryan of Lebanon, Missouri, and Sandi Romero of Springfield, Missouri; two sons, Denis Miller of Pittsburg, Kansas and Mike Fairchild of Hartville; thirteen grandchildren, Jourdain Granere, Amara Chatmon, William Kirsch and his wife Bethany, Hunter Kirsch, Jack Kirsch, Lucas Kirsch, Levi Pettyjohn and his wife Sarah, Makenzie Al-Arahshun and her husband Nizar, Jocee Pettyjohn, Emilia Romero, Mya Wilson, Braulio Romero and Ella Fairchild; four great-grandchildren with one on the way; his mother, Nancy Forbes of Arma, Kansas; his brother, Doug Forbes and his wife Ellen of Montana; two sisters, Carol Clark and her husband John of Arma, Kansas and Linda Poznick of Pittsburg, Kansas; his significant other, Jill Waterman; his daughter-in-law, Tricia Pettyjohn; his brother-in-law Doyle Standifer; and special dog friends, Max and Murphy.
Denis loved to go scuba diving and riding motorcycles. He was always searching for adventure. He enjoyed traveling with family and friends. He liked being outside in the Missouri Ozarks and the beauty it provided. He loved his coffee, and drank coffee all day long. He also liked sweets and kept those treats available as well.
Most of all, Denis loved his family very, very much. The time he could spend with them was valuable to him and the memories he created with them will be treasured for many years to come.
