Denise Husted's Obituary
Denise Lucille Husted, daughter of Dale and Gertie Umbenhower Ruffcorn, was born November 25, 1946, in Stillwell, Illinois. She departed this life Saturday, April 28, 2007, in St. John’s Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty years, five months, and three days. On December 31, 1965, she was united in marriage to Clarence Otis Husted, and to this union three daughters and three sons were born. She was preceded in death by her father, and a brother. Denise is survived by her husband, Clarence, of the home; three daughters, Debbie Watkins, and her husband, Jack, Becky Parrish, and her husband, James, all of Phillipsburg, Missouri, and Jenny Hensley, and her husband, Scott, of Bowen, Illinois; three sons, Michael Husted, and his wife, Loretta, Ronald Husted, and his wife, Amanda, all of Lebanon, Missouri, and James Husted, and his wife, Dawn, of West Point, Illinois; twenty-three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her mother, Gertie Ruffcorn, of Carthage, Illinois; two brothers, Donald Garrett, of Chariton, Iowa, and Bert Ruffcorn, of Carthage, Illinois; four sisters, Jenny Johnson, Brenda Clark, and Viola Ruffcorn, all of Carthage, Illinois, and Janet Johnson, of Hamilton, Illinois; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born in Stillwell, Illinois and was raised in Denver, Illinois. After she and Clarence were married, they made their home in the Denver and Carthage, Illinois areas, and lovingly raised their children. Through the years, Denise was a devoted and hardworking homemaker to her husband and family. She and Clarence retired to the Phillipsburg, Missouri community about two years ago. Denise was raised in the Denver Christian Church and then joined the Augusta Assembly of God in 1997. After moving to Lebanon, she transferred her membership to the Lebanon First Assembly of God. Doing volunteer work was very important to her and she enjoyed helping with the Free Store in Lebanon. In her spare time she enjoyed playing cards, and liked baking and cooking for her family and friends. She loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed her grandchildren. Denise was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. Her life was always centered around her family and she created many wonderful memories for them that they will keep in their hearts forever. Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2007, in the First Assembly of God Church, Lebanon. Visitation will be immediately following the service Tuesday evening in the church. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2007, in the West Point Cemetery, near Denver, Illinois. Memorials to Juvenile Diabetes Foundation may be made through the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
