Dennis Atkisson (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Dennis Daniel Atkisson, son of Howard A. and Ruby Turner Atkisson, was born October 18, 1952, in Marshall, Missouri. He departed this life Friday, January 24, 2014, in his home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty-one years, three months, and six days.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Mary and Judy.
Dennis is survived by a daughter, Janice Ortiz, and her husband, Felix, of Waynesville, Missouri; three sons, Marshall Atkisson, Daniel Atkisson, both of Lebanon, Missouri, and Michael Atkisson, of Marshall, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; four brothers, Howard Atkisson, and Freddie Hitchcock, both of Buffalo, Missouri, and Billy and Bobby; two sisters, Brenda Hicks, of Buffalo, Missouri, and Linda, of the State of Washington; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Buffalo, Missouri area. He then made his home in various areas in Missouri, and worked as a mechanic throughout those years. He eventually made his home in the Lebanon, Missouri area, and also worked as a handyman doing all kinds of repair work.
He possessed a delightful sense of humor, was always joking around, and loved to laugh. He had a caring heart and was always willing to help others. In his spare time he enjoyed watching wrestling matches on television. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Dennis was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
