Dennis Grossenheider's Obituary
Dennis Ralph Grossenheider, son of Joseph Warren and Betty Jane Abbott Grossenheider, was born Thursday, February 14, 1957 in Nellyville, Missouri. He departed this life Sunday, August 5, 2007 in his home in Roach, Missouri at the age of fifty years, five months and twenty-two days. On May 29, 1987 in Macks Creek, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Nancy Jean Jones Roderick and together they shared the past twenty years. He was preceded in death by his mother. Survivors include his wife, Nancy of the home; a son, Derrick Grossenheider of Cushing, Oklahoma; a daughter, Kendra Grossenheider of the home; two step-daughters, Cheryl Scheidemantle and her husband, Dale, of Camdenton, Missouri and Jennifer Gordon and her husband, Randy, of Columbia, Missouri; a step-son, Craig Roderick and his wife, Amy, of Roach, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; his father, Joe W. Grossenheider; two brothers, Ed and Paul Grossenheider; two sisters, Sue Roberts and Eve Churchill; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was raised in the Lebanon, Missouri area. After high school, he served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he lived in Cushing, Oklahoma. He moved to the lake area twenty-one years ago. He worked in Law Enforcement and Construction until he received an injury that caused disability. He had worked for the Camden County Sheriff’s Department for many years and received a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Columbia College. He made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of New Home Baptist Church in Camdenton. In his spare time, he enjoyed collecting coins, cars, Hot Wheels, hunting, and fishing. He spent many years coaching baseball and basketball teams for his children and area youth. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Denny was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2007, in the New Home Baptist Church. Memorials may be made through the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
