Dennis Gene Honey (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Dennis Gene Honey, son of William Grenfall and Ruby Ann Craddock Honey, was born December 25, 1945, near Stoutland, Missouri. He departed this life Friday, January 16, 2015, at his home, in Kansas City, Missouri, at the age of sixty-nine years, and twenty-one days.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Clayton G. Honey.
Dennis is survived by a brother, Spencer Honey, and his wife, Judy, of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; a sister, Kerry Ellis Jolly, of Rolla, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews including, John Honey, Lisa Honey Ross, David Honey, and Cody Honey; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Stoutland community, and then moved with his family to Kansas City, where he graduated from Park Hill High School. He then entered the military as a young man and served his country faithfully for four years in the United States Marine Corps infantry during the Vietnam War. Upon receiving his honorable discharge, he returned to Kansas City, where he worked as a service technician for Southwestern Bell for almost thirty years.
Dennis had made his profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church.
He belonged to the Masonic Lodge and was very involved in their activities. He had a group of friends that he met with each week and they would go out to eat and visit. In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors where he liked to go fishing and deer hunting. He was a very patriotic man who was proud of his nation and of his military service. His family and his friends were most important to him and he enjoyed visiting with them often.
Dennis was a loving brother, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Memorial donations may be made to the Honey Cemetery and left at the funeral home.
