Dennis A. Howard (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Dennis Albert Howard, son of the late Dillion and Cledyth (Hanks) Howard, was born on July 3, 1944 in Urbana, Missouri, and departed this life on July 27, 2022 in Springfield, Missouri. At the time of his passing he was 78 years and 23 days of age.
Dennis served his country in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to his wife of 32 years, Rosemary “Rosie” Sweany. He was well loved by many and was a member of the Crossway Baptist Church in Springfield, MO.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Ann Hill, Beth Adams, and Debbie Guthrie; one son, David Barfield; and one daughter, Jeanine Barfield. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary “Rosie” Howard; one daughter, Kathi and husband Gene Miles; his nephews, Devon Cruise and Brett Cruise; his nieces, Melonnie Templeton, Amy Strickland, Amber Guthrie, and Holly Hill; six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. He also leaves many other family members, friends, his Thursday Men’s Bible Study group, and his Crossway Baptist Church family of Springfield, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2022 in the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Maples officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
