So sad to hear about Dennis’ passing. My wife and I were talking about the old Missouri State Hospital in Marshall. I worked there with Dennis and went to school with him at Missouri Valley College in the mid 70’s.
A couple things immediately come to mind: 1) Dennis was the best song writer I ever met. He had soul and a passion for song with insightful lyrics, 2) he had a big and giving heart. When we knew each other, there was barely enough money to go around to buy cheap beer (Red White and Blue) and cigarettes (I think Dennis liked menthol) but he was always there to cheer me up with a song and an amazing meal. He was a generous soul with a big heart. I moved away from the state and lost track of Dennis in the 80’s. Sorry to hear about his passing and for your loss as friends and family. Hope his songs and hopefully a recording or two are still out there to fill the air. His memory certainly is. I didn’t know when I got up this morning that I’d be missing one of my oldest and dearest friends. This is all part of a full life. Rest thee well my brother RZ
