Dennis Ray Young (Humansville)'s Obituary
Dennis Ray Young was born on February 3, 1953, to John Howard and Velma Young. He died on May 14, 2026. He will be joined in heaven by his parents, two brothers Rick and Delbert Young, and a stepson Larry Ray Gossman. Dennis worked as a truck driver for 35 years and was affectionately known by the nickname "Dagwood." He proudly served in the United States Marines for two years. He leaves behind his wife, Velma Young, of Missouri; stepson Terry Gossman and his wife Jennifer Dyer; daughter Shelly Albright of Florida; sister Denise Rohwer of Missouri; and a brother John Young of Wyoming. He also had three children, Terri Weathers, Lea Welch, and a son Curtis Welch, all of Oklahoma. Additionally, he leaves behind several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Visitation for Dennis will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the Butler Funeral Home in Humansville, Missouri from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. A graveside service for Dennis will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Liberty Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
