Dewey Harold Amiln (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Dewey Harold Amlin, born near Wheatland, MO, on December 22, 1927, peacefully passed away on December 18, 2023. He was the son of Leslie and Elsie (Whisler) Amlin. Dewey's life was one of simple yet profound moments, shaped by his roots and the connections he formed along the way.
In 1950, Dewey answered the call to duty and was drafted into the military. However, after three months of service, he was medically discharged. Returning home, he embraced civilian life with determination. On November 16, 1952, he married Leota, and together they shared a life built on commitment and shared values.
Dewey is survived by his niece, Isabelle Duryee, and his friend, Dennis Barnum. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Lennie and Elzie.
Dewey's legacy lies in the simplicity of his kindness and the bonds he formed with family and friends. His memory will be cherished by those who knew him, and his impact will endure in the hearts of loved ones.
A graveside service will be held to honor Dewey's life on Wednesday, December 20 starting at 1:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Seeing Eye Inc. in Dewey's name. You can mail in donations to P.O. Box 375 Morristown, NJ 07963-0375.
