Dewey Curren (Camdenton)'s Obituary
Dewey Ivan Curren, son of Leo Burdette and Viola Wessel Curren, was born, January 14, 1948 in Aurora, Nebraska. He departed this life, April 8, 2016, in Ozark Rehabilitation and Care Center, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of sixty-eight years, two months and twenty-five days.
On May 25, 1994 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Grand Island, Nebraska, he was united in marriage to Sharon Jean Landenberger. Together they shared twenty-one years of marriage.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Curren of Kaiser, Missouri; four children, Shelly Schiley and husband Paul of Camdenton, Missouri, Sarah Graff and husband Jason of Lincoln, Nebraska, Brian Somerhalder of Omaha, Nebraska and Nicole Bonney and husband Anthony of Eldon, Missouri; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Kathy Beckman and husband Larry of Omaha, Nebraska and Frances Dunham of Lenexa, Kansas and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Dewey was raised on the family farm in Bradshaw, Nebraska and was a graduate of Bradshaw High School in the class of 1966. He worked as an over-the-road truck driver.
Dewey made a profession of faith and attended Calvary Chapel since 2004.
He loved fishing and hunting. Being with his grandkids brought him joy.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends.
A service will be held at a later date in Nebraska.
