Diane Louise Withey (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Diane Louise Withey passed away on Friday, January 5th, 2024, at the age of 75. Following a three-month battle with lung cancer, she went peacefully in her home in Bolivar, MO, surrounded by family. She was an amazing mother and had many close family and friends scattered across the country, who loved her dearly.
Diane was born August 6th, 1948, in Lake City, FL. She was a woman who wore many hats; however, her favorite job was working as a cake decorator for Winn-Dixie. Making cakes for family and friends was a hobby she was very passionate about, so it allowed her to do what she loved. She was a hard-working woman who went back to school and succeeded in obtaining her Associate's degree in Accounting.
She did not attend church but was a believer and follower of Christ. She enjoyed a large assortment of arts and crafts. She loved collecting trinkets, especially turtles.
She will always be remembered for her quirky and vibrant personality, as well as her generous heart and her love for family and friends. She took in numerous people over the years, giving a home to those who had no place to go.
She was preceded in death by her son, Chuck Thomas. She is survived by her sister, Helen Lindsey (James Lindsey), as well as her children: Allen Thomas, Joe Merideth (Tonya Merideth), Sami Vastine, Chris Vastine (Brandy Vastine), and informally adopted daughter Cynthia Bodine (Jason Bodine).
