Dixie Hudson (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Dixie Hudson, 89, of Weaubleau, MO passed away Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Hermitage Nursing Home and Rehab Facility in Hermitage, MO.
Dixie was born November 13, 1927 in Kansas City, MO to Frank and Eva Fender Buckslinger. From early on in her life, Dixie enjoyed reading anything she could get her hands on. She also enjoyed baking, specifically desserts like lemon pie and brownies.
On April 15, 1945, Dixie married the love of her life, Hal Hudson. Together the couple would have eight children. Raising a large family was not easy, but Dixie made sure that every one of her children knew that they were loved, including one Christmas where she gave each child a shirt that read “Mom’s Favorite”.
Dixie was blessed with a joyous disposition, living life to the fullest. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family at the bowling alley, square dancing, or even a quiet day in while embroidering. She was known by her happiness and her smile as the epitome of a lady.
Dixie is preceded in death by her husband, Hal Hudson, Sr. as well as a daughter, Sherry.
Dixie is survived by her children; Gary T. Hudson and wife Mary of Humansville, MO, Donna Lee Hudson of Ontario, CA, Brenda Roberts Whitman and husband Dennis of Flemington, MO, Janet Hudson of Weaubleau, MO, Patricia Ann Hudson of Auberry, CA, Meri Kay Hudson of Akron, OH, and Hal Hudson, Jr. and wife Pam of Fair Oaks, CA.
A graveside service for Dixie Hudson will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Humansville Cemetery under the direction of Butler Funeral Home of Humansville, MO.
