Dola Newell's Obituary
Dola Newell, daughter of George Thomas and Una McCoy Dunsdon, was born May 5, 1909, in Mills County, Iowa. She departed this life Monday, March 6, 2006, in her home, in Camdenton, Missouri, at the age of ninety-six years, ten months, and one day. In 1932, she was united in marriage to E. DeWayne Claiborne, and to this union one son was born. On June 6, 1942, in Yuma, Arizona, she married Herbert Stuart Newell, and to this union two sons were born. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stuart, on March 31, 1984; and two brothers, Kenneth and Lyle Dunsdon. Dola is survived by three sons, Robert DeWayne Claiborne, and his wife, Eunice, of Lake City, Iowa, James Thomas Newell, of Camdenton, Missouri, and Roger A. Newell, and his wife, Vicki, of Libertyville, Illinois; two foster daughters, Brenda Parrack, and her husband, Michael, of Branch, Missouri, and Gloria Dampier, and her husband, Jeff, of Tunas, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Jeff Claiborne, Janet Schrad, JoAnn Wiederan, Tara Harrington, Beth Parrack, Bobbie Dampier, Frankie Dampier, and Magnum Dampier; ten great-grandchildren, Justin, Janelle, Jill, Angie, Cody, Tanner, Ty, Clayton, Alexandria, and Aiden; a brother, Donald J. Dunsdon, of Glenwood, Iowa; a sister, Vivian Dyke, of Tabor, Iowa; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised on the family farm in Iowa and graduated from Tabor High School in the Class of 1927. She then attended teacher’s college in Peru, Nebraska. In 1942 she moved to California and married Stuart. During World War II, she and Stuart both worked for Lockheed Aircraft. They then made their home in Iowa for several years before moving to Camdenton, Missouri in 1965. Besides being a devoted homemaker and loving mother to her family, Dola also worked as a substitute teacher for a number of years. Dola made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life and was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Camdenton, where she played the piano. She volunteered many hours of work for various charities including the Lamb House in Camdenton and the Meals-On-Wheels program. She also helped form the Camden County Historical Museum in Linn Creek. In her spare time she enjoyed growing beautiful flowers, doing embroidery, and making quilts. She centered her life around her family and her church and especially enjoyed grandchildren. Dola was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2006, in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton. Burial will be in the Dale Blair Memorial Cemetery. Memorial donations to Community of Christ Church may be made through the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri. Raney, Gary Bruce, 62 Gary Bruce Raney, son of Orville Newton and Gladys Constance Spillman Raney, was born April 7, 1943, in the family home, near Owens, Missouri. He departed this life Thursday, March 16, 2006, in his home, at the age of sixty-two years, eleven months and nine days. On October 19, 1962, he was united in marriage to Bonita June Stambaugh, and to this union a daughter and a son were born. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Garrett Bolin; and two sisters, Lois McNutt and Lavon Smith. Gary is survived by his wife, Bonita, of the home; a daughter, Tina Bolin, and her husband, Grady, of Mountain Grove, Missouri; a son, Gregory Bruce Raney, and his wife, Debbie, of Springfield, Ohio; three grandchildren, Dylan Bruce Raney, Carley Raney and Gavin James Bolin; two very special individuals who were like a son and a daughter to Gary, Bill Freeman, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and Jacklynn Shaffer, of Norwood, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in the Owens community in Wright County, where his parents later operated the Owens Store. He graduated from Mountain Grove High School in the Class of 1961. After he and Bonita were married, they lived in Mountain Grove and Gary worked for the Mid-America Dairy in Cabool, Missouri. In 1966, they moved back to the family farm and built their home and later started their own dairy business. In June of 1989, while continuing to operate the farm, he went to work for the Wright County Soil and Water Conservation District, where he was a District Technician for fifteen years. He retired from the district in July of 2004. Gary had professed his faith in Christ and was a member of the Hopewell Free Will Baptist Church, where he enjoyed his church fellowship. He centered his life around God, his family and the operation of the farm, which he loved. He received great pleasure anytime he could take the grandchildren for rides on the tractor or the four-wheeler. He also enjoyed watching sports of all kinds. His heart always had a fond spot for animals. Including, his pet squirrel, Sammy, when he was young, the barn cats and his stock dog, Bruce, and house dog, Fuzz. He also enjoyed traveling in the last few years. Gary was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather, and was a caring neighbor and friend. He will be greatly missed and will live in our hearts forever. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and many friends. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2006, in the Hopewell Free Will Baptist Church. burial will be in the Rock Chapel Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Hartville, Missouri. Robinson, Jeraldine M., 85 Alice Jeraldine Mansfield Robinson, daughter of Irl D. and Eva Cristy Summers Mansfield, was born August 7, 1920, in Campbell, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, March 28, 2006, in Christian Healthcare North, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-five years, seven months, and twenty-one days. On July 2, 1944, she was united in marriage to Jesse C. Robinson, and to this union one son was born. Her parents, her husband, and two brothers preceded her in death. Jeraldine is survived by a son, Lee Robinson, and his wife, Sandra, of Eldridge, Missouri; three grandchildren, Lori Ann (Robinson) Logan, of Springfield, Illinois, Melissa Ann Robinson, of Linn Creek, Missouri, and Matthew Allen Robinson, of Eldridge, Missouri; three great-grandchildren, Jack Henning Logan, Madison Lee Stamm, and Alyssa Marie Robinson; a sister, Erma Lee Conrad, of Floral City, Florida; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in the Bootheel area, near Campbell, Missouri. Upon graduating from high school, she attended college in Poplar Bluff where she was trained as a dental assistant. She then worked for many years as a dental assistant in Malden, Missouri. After she and Jesse were married, they made their home in the Campbell area and began raising their son. Soon after Jesse’s passing, Jeraldine and Lee moved to her parents’ farm near Providence, Missouri. When Jeraldine’s father passed away, she and her mother moved to Clarkton, Missouri. Later, Jeraldine retired to Lesterville, Missouri, where she volunteered as a teacher’s aide. In the late 1990’s, she made her home with her son, near Eldridge. Jeraldine made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life and attended Mount Gilead Baptist Church in the Campbell, Missouri area. She enjoyed bottle feeding calves, watching over the registered Angus herd and loved babysitting. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren. Jeraldine was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2006, in the Mt. He departed this life Monday, March 27, 2006, in St. John’s Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-six years, seven months, and ten days. On August 8, 1942, he was united in marriage to Maria J. Torres, and to this union five daughters and seven sons were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant sons; a brother; and two sisters. Ignacio is survived by his loving wife of sixty-three years, Maria, of the home; five daughters, Guadalupe Moreno, and her husband, Angel, of the State Texas, Lola Ruiz, and H. Gallegos, of Lebanon, Missouri, Blanca Martinez, and her husband, Rodolfo, of State of Texas, Gloria Ruiz, and Hilda Ruiz, both of the State of Illinois; five sons, Gonzalo Ruiz, and his wife, Sofia, of the State of Illinois, Rafael Ruiz, and Jose Ruiz, both of Lebanon, Missouri, Francisco Ruiz, of the State of Texas, and Lidio Ruiz, and Minerva Vazquez, of Lebanon, Missouri; sixteen grandchildren, Jesus, Marios, Armendo, Angel, Jr., Fidel, and Omar Moreno, Antonio, Jarmin, Gorge, Gonzalo, and Eduardo Ruiz, Herrberto Gallegos, Jr., Reymundo Niero, Jr., Juanita, Edgar, and Danny Vazquez; two brothers, Porfiro and Antonio Ruiz, of Mexico; two sisters, Isabelle Jordon, and Celia Ruiz, of Mexico; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in Mexico. After he and Maria were married, they made their home in Mexico and began raising their family, while Ignacio worked as a farmer. In 1975, the family moved to the United States and made their home in Chicago, Illinois. They then moved to the Lebanon, Missouri area, near Niangua, in 1992. For the last few months, Ignacio and Maria made their home in Lebanon. Ignacio was raised in the Catholic faith, and attended the Spanish Masses at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Springfield, Missouri. His family was central in his life and he was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors where he liked riding horses. Ignacio was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he made for his family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 31, 2006, in St. Frances DeSales Catholic Churh, Lebanon. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
