Dolly Marie Hayes (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Dolly Marie Hayes was born January 17, 1939 in Orla, Missouri, to Walter M. Bohannon and Vina Mae Gourley. She departed this life Friday, September 27, 2024 in her daughter’s home in Lebanon, Missouri. She was eighty-five years, eight months and ten days of age.
Dolly spent most of her life in Lebanon and began her career with H. D. Lee Company. She then went to Justice Furniture Manufacturing Company where she worked for twenty-two years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Vina; her daughter, Janice Marcum; a brother, James Bohannon; and two sisters, Fern Looney and Dorothy Elam.
She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca McDowell and her husband Tony and Sandra Humphreys and her husband Jerry, all of Lebanon, Missouri; six grandchildren, Stephanie and her husband Craig, Amber, Taylor, Jeff and his wife Vanessa, Jenny and her husband Darrell and Justin and his wife Amanel; fourteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Florence Ruble and Barb Decker, both of Lebanon, Missouri.
Dolly had attended several churches over the years. She loved her family and enjoyed taking care of her precious grandchildren. She enjoyed reading books to them, playing games, and attending their functions at school.
She enjoyed going to garage sales and sewing.
Dolly had a sweet disposition and a great sense of humor. She loved her family very much and was a part of each one of their lives in a meaningful way. Her energy, conversation and ready laugh brightened everyone’s day. She always looked forward to get-togethers and holiday celebrations. Dolly will certainly be missed by those who knew and loved her.
